9 WAYS TO BE A CATALYST FOR GOOD
Catalyst:// a person that engages in community and increases the energy + frequency of change.
Here’s a 9 ways you can be a positive influence within your community.
BE ENTIRELY YOURSELF
When you own who you are, you give others permission to come as they are.
LISTEN
When a person feels valued and heard, the more they will trust your influence.
BE KIND RATHER THAN RIGHT
When our focus is being right, we may tend to hurt others around us, which hurts our influence.
HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE
There is certainly a time to feel the negative feelings.
LEAD BY EXAMPLE
When you tell others to do something that you’re not doing yourself, you lose your credibility. Be the person that shows others there’s a way.
EDUCATE OVER PREACH
Talking down to people does not inspire people to be better, it just creates more of a distance. Take the extra time to explain the value and guide towards the decision for others to choose for themselves.
BE ACCEPTING AND NOT JUDGE
What you may know may only be the surface level. A person of influence is someone who others feel comfortable to approach and be vulnerable with. Be sure to be that person.
BE COMPASSIONATE
Put yourself in a situation where you needed compassion from others. This will help you be more compassionate when others need it.
TITHE
Find an organization that aligns with your passions and desires, and invest in creating more opportunities for that organization’s mission.
YOU ARE is a non-profit that educates youth living in developing countries to step into their truest potential through mind, body and spirit. Our focus is serving through quality physical education programs, sports opportunities, mindset + leadership development, and equality awareness.
CATALYST is our monthly membership program where you can tithe for as little as $10 a month. What this means for you is that this gives you a sustainable way to give back to communities. The real value is that you would be a part of a community that is the back bone of our mission being able to serve in BIG ways — helping youth step into their truest potential through quality physical education programs, sports opportunities, mindset + leadership development and equality.
Did you know that 16% of persistently poor children become successful adults? That means that millions of children aren’t able to step out of poverty and step into their truest potential. As a Catalyst, you will be able to heighten the percentage and creating a lasting change for the generations to come.
Having a sustainable way to give back is what you want, isn’t it?
